Proposed
Development
and this is the amended plan. 2007:
A recommendation in January from
Councillors resulted in the approval of this DA in March 2008 with
specific requirements added to increase privacy for neighbouring
properties. |
Harbour Concept Plan Submission: The Ulladulla and Districts Community Forum appreciates, the Ulladulla Harbour and CBD are in need of some major upgrades and improvements such as safety, aesthetics, amenity and general maintenance. However, the Ulladulla Harbour Concept Plan seems to suggest that maximum development and investment return should drive development in the Harbour area. The Forum believes development should be based on its socio-economic value not by the sum of dollar returns to investors. |

DA06/2236 was
submitted for a
Mixed use Commercial/Residential development comprising of three (3) retail
spaces, one (1) restaurant, thirty four (34) residential apartments and
basement parking for 87 cars at 26-32 Wason St, Ulladulla.
Proposed building located in "Sensitive Coastal Region" and exceeds the
height code set out in DCP56. This DA was approved by council in December
2006.

|
The large mixed use development obtained a more significant variation to the building height line restriction as almost the entire building was above 8 metres. The height of some sections of this complex will be in the order of 19 metres. The building will conflict with the existing town character in terms of height, bulk and scale, and is likely to have a significant impact on view corridors to the harbour.

South St Development
This development application, lodged in September 2006, involves the demolition of existing structures and construction of a seven storey building. The building will house three retail units on the ground floor and forty-two residential apartments with two levels of basement parking and one hundred parking spaces. This building does not meet the existing DCP56 height code. |
