NO JUSTIFICATION FOR HIGH-RISE IN ULLADULLA

There no evidence that developments above 4 storeys are viable. Both Wason St and South St developments have not proceeded most likely due to due to a lack of interest.

The Australian Bureau Of Statistics shows The population increase in whole of the Shoalhaven for the period 2006 – 2007 was only 684,

According to the Australian Bureau Of Statistics, this includes men, women and children. It hard to imagine Ulladulla getting any more than 10% of these or 68 persons.  Assuming some of these are families then perhaps 40 might be a reasonable estimate.  Not the sort of numbers that would justify multi-story developments.

The DCP can be changed anytime in the future to accommodate changing circumstances.

An Approved DA is Here to Stay

DCP RUSHED THROUGH COUNCIL

The latest Development Control Plan for Ulladulla was given the green light at an extraordinary meeting of council on the 29th July 2008. Input from the Forum and the general community was ignored and further amendments were introduced without consulting the various working parties. The Forum believes a decision on the DCP should have been deferred so these amendment's could have been exhibited and public comment called.

THE DOOR IS NOW OPEN FOR:

High Rise buildings to adorn our harbour as evidenced by a recent DA proposing a six story building in Wason Street.
Open ended guidelines offering no protection against indiscriminate development.
Heritage listed icons demolished provided appropriate archival documentation and photographs are kept

Urban Design apartment buildings with a height limit of 5 storeys could soon be a common site around our harbour foreshores now that the Development Control Plan has been adopted.

DRAFT MANAGEMENT PLAN

Some of the main points addressed in the Forums submission to the Draft Management Plan for 2008 – 2011

Problems of drainage behind the Baptist Church. Council have agreed to spend $45,000 to help alleviate this.
Roundabout at the junction of Maisie Williams Drive, Ocean Street and Illett Street $750,000 has been budgeted to do this.
New car park in St Vincent St opposite Ulladulla High School for use of shoppers and workers.

Ulladulla  is underfunded. This is a general feeling amongst the community.  More money needs to be spent on Ulladulla Sports Park in particular.
Council vehicle purchases raise concerns over the money spent on on these
Council canteen has a projected loss of at least $80,000 every year for the next four years. Members of the U&DCF felt that ratepayers should not be subsidising this amenity.

OFF-LEASH AREAS FOR DOGS

Council have approved off leash areas for dogs in Ulladulla, Milton, Burrill lakes Narrawallee and Mollymook.
Details of these areas are available on Council website
