CIVIC CENTRE REFURBISHMENT IN DOUBT
Uncertainty surrounds the upgrade of the CIVIC CENTRE with some councillors now suggesting the project be put on hold. Pressure is being applied to have the $8m allocated to the Civic Centre project reallocated to the Dunn Lewis Foundation. The refurbishment of the Civic Centre must go ahead, it is our CIVIC CENTRE and OUR MONEY. If you are also concerned we urge you to write to your local Councillor or the General Manager at Shoalhaven City Council and express your concerns.
The U&DCF Continues its Involvement in Community Issues.

NEW COUNCIL WEBSITE

Shoalhaven City Council recently launched a new refurbished website featuring over 3,000 documents and 500 functional pages of information.
The upgraded website features a new modern look and easier to navigate style allowing local residents far greater access to a wide range of Council information.
Some of the most notable changes include the creation of a ‘My Property’ page, encompassing all personal property information and the ‘My Council’ section which provides documents relating to all of Council’s latest happenings including current public exhibitions, development application updates and spaces to comment.

You can also easily report a neighbourhood problem via the website.

For further information on Council’s new website, please contact the Media Manager or (02) 4429 3595 or visit Council’s new internet site at www.shoalhaven.nsw.gov.au.

WOOLWORTHS NOT SHAPING UP

PROPOSED DESIGN

With Woolworths construction well under way its hard to imagine how the present ugly concrete wall facing the highway can be transformed into the proposed design. While there appears to be an absence of many of the features that Forum members and the community were led to believe would be included we are assured that the finished building will be aesthetically pleasing.

Ulladulla Aquaculture,
Research and Recreation Centre

The  "ARRC" project will turn a disused water treatment plant at Ulladulla into a Sustainable Food  Technology Park, to be used primarily for aquaculture and also for educational research, tourism and recreational purposes, integrated with renewable energy production.  The concept involves using $6million existing infrastructure – tanks and ponds – in a park like setting and incorporating a variety of activities which will co-exist with the overall theme of sustainability. At community request Shoalhaven City Council on 24 June 2008 committed to a five year lease free opportunity to provide the site with the existing $6 million infrastructure for the community to develop this concept.

For a small donation of $3 you can join "Friends of ARRC" and help get this project started. To find out more about becoming a friend please contact Michael Ramsden, Secretary
